Sequoia (Adobe Illustrator)

Sometimes even I don't wanna talk...

I just wish I could put my shades on and disappear.
Become stoic and unhurtable like a mighty redwood.
Black out the pain with a mighty shadow ...

And turn the black night into bright sunlight. And heal my soul.

but that is not always possible .... For me at least.

So rather than Darkness --- I will hide my soul with blinding radiance.

And dance in the sunshine ---I'll turn on some Prince as i do when i am mad or sad or happy or bored ---

5. Scan the image into photoshop at 300 dpi and 11 x 17
6. Use the Threshold feature adjusting image to pure black and white
7. Insert Colors using various layers and textures to create the following image

Dusk Issue One Page One (Pen and Ink on Artboard)

Here is the first page of Dusk: The Lightbearer Number One.

My normal technique for drawing a comic page is the following:

1. Using the script of the storyline, sketch out a small thumbnail to make sure the page flow is correct.
2. Transfer that thumbnail to comic book artboard (11 X17 inches) using a non photo blue pencil. It is called a non-photo pencil because it does not photo copy or scan when entering the image into Photoshop.
3. Pencil the image using an HB pencil.
4. Ink the page using rapidograph pens and India inks.

At this point we are at the image in this post. The next steps will be post over the next few days.
