"It has been said that is always darkest before the dawn, but what happens when all light and hope disappears at Dusk. When the twilight goes dark. When everything goes silent. What then? During the gloaming, during the time before the crickets begin to sing. The time of the eventide. What will you do? Will you be able to stare down the silence? Will you face the fear? Will you peer into the gaping quietude and hold steadfast? Will you put a face to the unrighteous? Will you try to imagine what the silence looks like?"

Enrica (Design2 Colored Pencils/Markers)
I keep the colored pencils out and work on a poster design that I think is pretty kool but a little hot as well.
All me --no computer tricks AM. As the kidz say, "I'm keepin' it Real YO!!!"
A quick footnote ( known affectionately as a geek moment or GM, From now on. So on future postings if you see a GM treat it like a PS on a letter. So when you see a GM thta means you are about to enter the geek zone.)
GM: The Design2 colored pencils. They stopped making them about 5 years ago and I wasn't able to find that I like to replace them. Then like a dream I found a art store going out of business selling a few gross of assorted colors on the greatest of inventions EBAY. So the Kid made a bid and won them. Know they have a place of honor at the crib right next to my prince bootlegs and my Jack Kirby Thors. (See Addie --I can ramble with the best of them)

Dagny (Design2 Colored Pencils)
In part of my trial to get back in touch with my "organic side", I also was experimented this weekend with some colored pencils.
Two constants of my work, you will begin to notice is:
1. The effect of negative space or the really the absence of positive space to define forms and shapes
2. The strong eye conduct or lack of made by my "models".
I definitely like the my old design2 pencils and the inherent softness of the images.
for the record -- I did use photoshop on this but only to scan it in. No tweaking. No technological "tricks". No retouch just a clean scan.
Thanks again for listening to me ramble. Or reading me ramble.

"Sun" (watercolor sketch)
I have been wanting to get "dirty" again by using my brushes and watercolors --so much of my recent work has been strictly digital -- adobe illustrator/photoshop and my wacom tablet but I didn't want to lose the "touch".
For this piece I used my watercolors to create a different look -- I definitely like the way the watercolor paper gives a nice background hue. I then scanned it in photoshop and "tweaked" it slightly. Can't escape technology 100% I guess. Hope you like it ... Especially you.
